I’m Amy Casto and I am a multidisciplinary artist specialising in glass. I originally set out to be an illustrator, specialising in cartoons and character design but was always torn between 2D and 3D. I ended up studying Contemporary Crafts where I was able to study a range of processes from silversmithing to glassblowing, which I absolutely loved. It was whilst studying that I won a bursary to attend an engraving course with Katharine Coleman at West Dean College. Although a very slow and patient process, I really enjoyed it and it enabled me to combine my love for illustration with 3D objects. Since graduating in 2015 I have worked as a glassblower, modelmaker, freelance illustrator, jeweller and engraver.
